Alessandra JAMES

Alessandra trained with Gwinnett Ballet Theatre under the direction of Lisa Sheppard. She also trained with Stanislav Issaev and went on to compete in the Premio Roma International Ballet Competition where she received third prize and the Grishko Prize for Charm and Elegance. Alessandra danced with Colorado Ballet for one season before joining Charlotte Ballet II and later, the main company. In 2008, after six years with Charlotte Ballet, Alessandra moved to Madrid, Spain, where she danced with the Victor Ullate Ballet. Alessandra has performed in George Balanchine’s Agon, Apollo, Midsummer Night’s Dream and Who Cares?; Jerome Robbin’s Fancy Free; Twyla Tharp’s Nine Sinatra Songs and The Golden Section; and as Mina in Mark Godden’s Dracula. She received a Princess Grace Award in 2005.

SARAH HARKINS

Sarah’s early training was in Asheville, NC, at the Asheville Center of Performing Arts, after which she attended North Carolina School of the Arts in the High School Program. She performed George Balanchine’s Serenade for the Tribute to Melissa Hayden, and at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. In 2005, she performed with Ballet Adriatico in Ascoli Piceno, Italy. Sarah attended summer intensives with Miami City Ballet and Charlotte Ballet. She has performed in seven world premieres by choreographer Dwight Rhoden, and has also performed in works by Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux, Jiří Bubenícek, Mark Diamond, David Ingram, Sasha Janes, Twyla Tharp, William Forsythe and Jiří Kylián. Some of her favorite roles include, Choleric in Balanchine’s Four Temperaments, Grand Pas Classique, Cinderella, Tinker Bell and the Grey Girl in Jiří Kylián’s Forgotten Land.

JENNA EVANS

Jenna received her Masters in Kinesiology and Athletic Training from Indiana University and a Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training from Western Carolina University. For the last several years, she has been following her passion and working in the performing arts. Jenna joined Architech Sports and Physical Therapy after serving as an Athletic Trainer on the collaborative multidisciplinary healthcare team at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Previously she was the Clinical Intern at the Harkness Center for Dance Injuries in New York City and then Lead Athletic Trainer for both the Jacobs School of Music and Indiana University Ballet Theater.

Jenna’s treatment philosophy involves considering the whole person, not just the injury. Her treatment approach is holistic in nature with a great focus on injury prevention and education. Over the years, she has worked with some amazing performers and choreographers from on and off Broadway shows, conservatories and prep programs, competition studios and professional dance companies including Twyla Tharp, Dance Theater of Harlem, Charlotte Ballet, Ballet Hispanico, Mark Morris Dance Group, New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theater, Boston Ballet, and Pilobolus Dance Theatre.
