Meet the Fort Mill Staff
Chris Cox
Chris’s interest in physical therapy stemmed from his own experiences with sports-related injuries. A former left-handed pitcher for Spartanburg Methodist College and the University of South Carolina-Upstate, he underwent extensive rehabilitation for both elbow and shoulder injuries. These experiences ignited a passion for understanding the complexities of the human body and its movement, leading him to pursue a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina.
Chris carries a USAW Level 1 certification and is a credentialed dry needling practitioner. He is also a member of the American Society of Shoulder & Elbow Therapists (ASSET) and has contributed to the development of anatomy and physiology curriculum for the College Board. Outside of the clinic, Chris enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, fishing, cheering on the Clemson Tigers, and being active in his church.
Mia Troiano
Mia joins Architech Sports after graduating with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Miami in May 2024. Prior to this, she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology in 2019 and a Master’s of Science in Athletic Training in 2021 from the University of Virginia. At the University of Virginia, she gained valuable experience working with various Division I sports, including softball, track and field, football, and women’s basketball. During her time at the University of Miami, she further honed her skills as an athletic trainer with the Club Sports program and through a clinical rotation with the University of Miami baseball team.
Mia is passionate about sports physical therapy and helping athletes achieve optimal performance. Her personal experience with injury as a competitive soccer player fuels her dedication to guiding athletes through their rehabilitation journeys. Originally from Haymarket, Virginia, Mia enjoys spending her free time with friends, exercising, exploring the outdoors, reading, and cheering on her favorite sports teams.
Josh Heuck
Josh’s love of sports began on the baseball field, where he played both competitively and recreationally throughout his life. A personal injury that kept him from advancing to the next level sparked his passion for physical therapy and his drive to help athletes recover stronger, move better, and reach their full potential. He earned both his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Evansville and holds certifications in Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) and Functional Movement Screen (FMS).
Josh has a special interest in working with overhead athletes and takes pride in designing personalized, sport-specific programs that support long-term success and performance. He brings energy, focus, and a deep understanding of movement to every patient interaction—whether it’s returning to play or overcoming injury. Outside the clinic, Josh stays active and brings that same passion and commitment to everything he does, always striving to help others thrive both in sport and in life.
Amanda Talerico
Amanda TalericoAmanda has a lifelong passion for sports and a deep understanding of the athlete experience—both as a competitor and as a patient. She brings 13 years of all-star and high school cheerleading experience, along with firsthand knowledge of the physical and mental demands athletes face. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from East Tennessee State University, where she was a cheerleader and gained hands-on experience working with the university’s football, cheer, dance, and basketball teams. She went on to earn her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from South College in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Her background in both athletic training and physical therapy fuels her commitment to helping patients return to the activities they love with confidence and strength. She takes pride in supporting athletes of all levels and creating individualized care plans that address both recovery and performance. Outside of the clinic, she coaches the varsity cheer team at Catawba Ridge High School, enjoys weightlifting and playing pickleball, and rarely misses a University of Tennessee football game.
What our clients Say
I can’t say enough about Steven and Emily. They have been a true blessing two times over with my son who has had two ACL surgeries. He came back after the first stronger and faster and we’re believing for the same this time around. For me personally, with my neck and shoulder issues, they were phenomenal and equipped me with the tools to continue care at home. Five stars for architect sports in Baxter! Highly highly recommend
Jessica Ponce
This my fourth time going to Architect Sports for physical therapy. First three were after knee surgeries but this one was for a pulled hamstring. The staff is amazing from the front desk to the therapist you couldn’t ask for better people. They truly care about getting you back to where you want to be. They cater to all ages but what I love the most is they cater to athletes or even people who used to be athletes and still workout like one. I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else in the future for any injury that comes up. It is the first place I recommend to anyone that asks. Stephen and Emily thank both so very much for taking care of me and Michelle for all she does at the front desk.
Jacque Baxley
I had the privilege of interning at this incredible clinic and enjoyed every minute of it. The staff are super friendly, great to work with and know what they’re doing.
