DO I NEED A REFERRAL?

Both North and South Carolina offer some form of direct access to physical therapy, meaning you can often begin treatment without a doctor’s referral. This allows you to choose Architech Sports and Physical Therapy and start your recovery sooner in many cases. However, specific regulations and insurance requirements can vary. Some insurance plans might still require a referral or prescription. We recommend contacting your insurance provider to understand your specific coverage details and any referral requirements. We’re also happy to help you navigate this process – give us a call and we can answer any insurance questions you have.

We’re likely in-network with your insurance provider! We accept most major insurance plans, including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Medicare, Tricare, UnitedHealthcare, and Veterans Affairs Community Care. We also offer affordable self-pay options. Call us to verify your specific coverage.

We recommend wearing comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. Think of what you might wear to the gym or for a walk/run. Athletic shoes are ideal.

  • A Warm Welcome: We’ll start by making you feel comfortable and getting to know you.
  • Brief Check-In: We’ll have a few quick paperwork items to complete.
  • Thorough Evaluation: This will involve a conversation about your health history, current concerns, and goals for therapy. We’ll also conduct some baseline tests and measurements to assess your movement, strength, and flexibility.
  • Personalized Plan: Based on the evaluation, we’ll create a personalized plan of care tailored to your specific needs and goals.
  • Home Exercise Program: We’ll provide you with a home exercise program to support your progress between sessions.
  • Clear Expectations: We’ll discuss the expected frequency and duration of your treatment, and answer any questions you may have.

The number of physical therapy sessions you’ll need can vary depending on several factors, including your individual condition, goals, and progress.

On average, most people attend physical therapy 9-10 times. In the beginning, you might come twice a week, gradually reducing the frequency to once a week or every other week as you improve.

For post-operative rehabilitation (after a major surgery), the duration of therapy often depends on the severity of the injury or surgery. It could range anywhere from 3 to 6 months.

Rest assured, we’ll work closely with you to develop a personalized treatment plan and adjust it as needed to ensure you achieve the best possible outcome.
