More Than Physical Therapy
Traditional physical therapy often focuses only on getting you out of pain. At Architech Sports, we go further.
Our Matthews clinic bridges the gap between rehabilitation and performance. We don’t just help you feel better. We help you move better, train smarter, and reduce your risk of future injury.
Every plan starts with a thorough evaluation and continues through progressive strength, mobility, and movement training based on your goals.

Meet our Team at Architech Matthews
DOUGIE HINES
Dougie joined Architech after working as a Physical Therapist for 2 years in Lynchburg, VA. He is originally from Burlington, NJ and made his way down south to attend the University of Lynchburg for his undergraduate studies as well as PT school.
He played football and baseball his whole life but stopped after High School to focus on his studies. He is an NSCA Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and emphasizes the importance of strength training with all of his patients in order to maintain a more fitness forward approach to rehabilitation.
TYLER NATION
Tyler, a Doctor of Physical Therapy, understands the demands of competitive sports firsthand. As an All-American lacrosse player at York College of PA, he gained invaluable experience in performance, training, and recovery. He went on to earn his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Wingate University, where he combined his passion for athletics with evidence-based rehabilitation to help athletes reach their full potential.
Tyler is committed to helping athletes and active individuals stay strong, recover efficiently, and perform at their best. As a NSCA Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), he integrates strength training principles into rehabilitation to enhance resilience and injury prevention. When he’s not in the clinic, Tyler enjoys coaching youth lacrosse for Charlotte Lacrosse Association (CLA) and Team Carolina, hiking, playing golf, and spending time outdoors with his wife and dog.
Abbi Brundrett
Abbi joins the Architech family after working as an ATC with women’s soccer and lacrosse at Manhattan University. She previously worked as a graduate assistant at Wingate University, getting her Master of Arts in Sports Management while working field hockey and triathlon. Previously, she graduated from Western Carolina University with a Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training.
Growing up, Abbi was an elite competitive cheerleader and dancer competing against teams from around the world. Abbi is a passionate advocate for bringing the precision of sports recovery to everyone. As a former National Champion Cheerleader and World Perfect Grand Champion Dancer, Abbi understands the demands of gymnastics, dance, and cheer on the body. Her belief is not just to focus on rehabilitation but to maintain peak sport performance and quality of life. In college, she discovered athletic training and quickly fell in love with the profession. After working with a variety of ages who all have vastly different goals, she caters your recovery to you. Abbi loves learning more than just your medical history. She incorporates your hobbies and passions into recovery sessions to match your personal goals and lifestyle. Healing is a collaborative effort. Under her care, Abbi makes it her goal to keep you doing what makes you happy for as long as possible. She accomplishes this by creating a program tailored to you and teaching you methods to continue on your own for long-term benefits.
When Abbi is not working, you could find her heading up her program, Abbi’s Angels, bringing Christmas to children whose families are fighting breast cancer, reading the latest TikTok book of the month, or camping in the woods, desert, or anywhere else her 4-wheel drive can take her.
