Meet the Team at Architech Blakeney
SARAH FORD
Sarah joined Architech Sports after completing her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at East Carolina University, where she also earned her Bachelor’s in Athletic Training. Her experience at ECU included working with diverse athletes, guiding them through rehabilitation to return to their sports at a high level. A lifelong athlete, Sarah grew up playing basketball and volleyball and continued her passion through intramural and club sports in college. Observing her father’s rehabilitation from multiple injuries during her adolescence sparked her interest in physical therapy and inspired her focus on building strong patient relationships and providing holistic, individualized care.
Outside of the clinic, Sarah maintains an active lifestyle with workouts, walks, and attending concerts. She values spending time with friends and family and enjoys relaxing with her favorite reality TV shows.
TODD ELWOOD
MONICA WIDMEYER
Monica is a former Division 1 varsity cross country and track athlete, she competed all four years of high school and earned multiple all-city honorable mentions. Her passion for understanding athletic performance—especially in female athletes—led her to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science with a concentration in Exercise and Movement at the University of Dayton. While there, she also became a nationally certified group fitness instructor, coaching strength training, spinning, and Pilates.
She went on to earn her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Drawing from her personal experiences with injury recovery and athletic burnout, she is deeply committed to helping every client not just heal, but truly thrive. Known for her drive and love of a challenge, she brings energy and empathy to every session. In her free time, she enjoys weightlifting, running, being outdoors, and learning new sports.
KARA MCHOUELL
Lizzie’s dedication to keeping people active stems from her own background as a competitive swimmer. A former athlete at Myers Park High School and East Carolina University, she understands the importance of movement and the frustration of injuries that sideline individuals from the activities they love. Lizzie earned her bachelor’s in Athletic Training from East Carolina University and a Master’s in Kinesiology from Georgia Southern University, where she gained experience treating individuals of all athletic abilities.
With a passion for rehabilitation, Lizzie has consistently integrated her expertise into various roles, from high school athletics to campus recreation and sports medicine. She is committed to helping patients recover from injuries and return to their active lifestyles stronger and more prepared. When not in the clinic, Lizzie enjoys spending time with her two dogs, running, exploring the outdoors, and traveling.
