Meet the Athletic Training Center Team

Todd Elwood

Todd’s interest in physical therapy was ignited by his own experiences with sports-related injuries. Growing up here locally as an athlete at Piedmont High School, Todd faced the challenges of injury and recovery firsthand. Experiencing a Tommy John surgery during his baseball career at UNC Charlotte truly sparked his passion for helping others. Going through the rigorous rehabilitation process to return to the field gave Todd a deep understanding of the physical and mental perseverance required for recovery. This experience laid the foundation for his decision to pursue a Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Wingate University.

Todd is passionate about helping athletes overcome injuries and get back to doing what they love. Outside of the clinic, he enjoys working out, watching sports, and spending quality time with his wife and dog.

The Architech Experience

"After trying many different forms/places for physical therapy that weren’t as effective as I wanted them to be, I came to Architech as a recommendation from my basketball coach. Over the past two weeks since I began treatment here, I’ve experienced the most effective PT styles and I was back to playing faster than expected. The staff is so nice and supportive. Highly recommend!"

"I have been using Sports Architech Ballantyne off and on for the past 4 years. I have had nothing but a great experience. They make it easy to schedule, help with the insurance (shout out to Sarah as that is a huge role) and are so knowledgeable! They work hand in hand with many Charlotte doctors and are cutting edge when it comes to the newest advancement in treatments etc. Sydney has been a step ahead as I have been on a long road of tears and inflammation! I appreciate all that goes into a frustrating condition made “tolerable” by continuing my treatments there! Wouldn’t go anywhere else which is why I drive over 30 minutes to my appointments! I highly recommend everyone there!"
Lori Hillman
“Architech Sports has been and remains an essential part of my well-being. Sooner or later, those who stay active and push themselves experience injuries and setbacks. Architech is there not only to help you recover and get back, but to get back faster, better, and stronger. For me, it started with a hip, then a hamstring, then my hip again (replacement), and later a shoulder issue. If you’ve recently had an injury, are pre- or post-surgery, or simply want to become a better athlete, I highly recommend reaching out to Architech Sports.”
